New Mexico Voices for Children
Call for nominations for the 20th Annual Amy Biehl Youth Spirit Award!
Calling all New Mexico youth (aged 13-26) who are working to make the world a better place!
New Mexico Voices for Children would like to honor you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to improving the lives of others. We founded the Amy Biehl Youth Spirit Award in 1993—the year that Amy died working to end apartheid in South Africa. The award honors young people in New Mexico who, like Amy, have stepped up to bring positive change to their communities and/or the world at large through community service. One first place winner and one second place winner will be named from each of the two age groups (13-18 and 19-26), and will receive scholarship awards.
A first place award in the amount of $1,000 will be given to one person in both age groups and a second place award in the amount of $500 will be given to one person in both age groups.
The deadline for the application is Friday, May 30, 2014, 5pm.
The Amy Biehl Youth Spirit Award packet has the details and information needed to complete the application.
Please forward this to any young person you know as well as everyone in your networks so they can pass the word along.
If you have any questions about the award or application, please contact NM Voices for Children’s Outreach, Fund, and Membership Coordinator, Brian Urban, at burban@nmvoices.org or 505-244-9505, ext. 108.
