About - As sovereign bodies, we would like to provide a safe space to conduct healthy conversations and complete actions that are driven by Native youth.

Description -Making spaces for people to converse, plan, and organize to invoke and
contribute to the movement -#RisingNativeYouth#RNY2014

Objective - As sovereign bodies, we would like to provide a safe space to conduct healthy conversations and complete actions that are driven by Native youth for Native communities. We are based out of the Four Corners area and ideas will not reflect all Native youth thinking as a whole.

Our mission is to provide Native youth the proper platform to speak on issues that limit our ability of progression. We are only scratching the surface by giving the community a voice.

Yá'át'ééh Késhmish (Merry Christmas)!

We Wish You A Merry Christmas (Navajo Lyrics)

Here are the lyrics to the famous Christmas Carol "We Wish You A Merry Christmas," as performed by the Fruitland Gospel Trio. The original author of the song is unknown, as is the translator of this song into the Navajo Language.

The literal translation of each word or words below the Navajo words is provided in English to help learn the words to the song.

I hope hearing this story in a Native American language will add to your enjoyment this holiday season! Yá'át'ééh Késhmish (Merry Christmas)!

Let's Move Faith and Communities Free Webinar

The Partnership Center News: A publication of the HHS Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships
Dear Partners,
We hope you can join Let’s Move Faith and Communities tomorrow – Thursday, September 12th – at 1 p.m. EDT for a webinar training on Media-Smart Youth®: Eat, Think and Be Active! To register for the webinar, click here.
Media-Smart Youth – part of the National Institutes of Health’s We Can! (Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity & Nutrition)® program – is an after-school program designed to help young people ages 11 to 13 understand the connections between media and health and to help youth build media analysis and production skills. The program uses nutrition and physical activity examples to help youth think critically about how media influences the choices they make.
In addition, each of the next two weeks, Let’s Move Faith and Communities invites you to join a webinar training on the Energize Our Families: Parent Program, also part of We Can! The Parent Program is a multiple-session curriculum designed to provide parents and caregivers with the knowledge and skills they need, along with practical tools, to help families maintain a healthy weight. Specific topics include shopping for healthy food on a budget, controlling portion sizes, increasing physical activity in youth and reducing family screen time.
We Can! is a national education program designed to provide families, caregivers and communities the science-based tips, tools and strategies that they can use to help children eat right, move more and reduce screen time. These webinar trainings equip faith and community leaders like you to use We Can! materials and resources to help families help children lead healthier lives.
To register for a We Can! webinar, please click on one of the dates below or go to the Partnership Center's website:

Early Childhood Literacy

In June, I was asked by Shiprock Chapter House President, Dewayne Yazzie to promote an Early Literacy Project that I've been collaborating with the Shiprock Branch and Farmington Public Library on. In the state of New Mexico reading statistics rank our state as 50th. Since the beginning of my year we've had a dream to be able to promote Early Childhood Literacy to children in Chapter Houses’, this was our solution to help Navajo Country... Our Pilot Program will take place this July.
