American Indian Diabetes Prevention Center

                                 NATIVE PARENTS

HELP OTHER INDIAN FAMILIES LEARN FROM YOUR STORY!

IF ANY OF YOUR CHILDREN HAVE DIABETES,  PLEASE CONSIDER SHARING YOUR STORY WITH US—IT’S EASY!  A SHORT VIDEO AT YOUR HOME OR WORKPLACE.

HELP OTHERS UNDERSTAND THE CHALLENGES, THE LOVE,
AND THE DEDICATION IT TAKES TO HELP YOUR CHILD SUCCEED.

The American Indian Diabetes Prevention Center (AIDPC) at the University of Oklahoma will release a series of short videos over the next three years.  These 3- to 4-minute stories are designed to encourage and support Native parents everywhere who face the challenges of raising children with diabetes.  Each video will feature one family, and will be posted on the AIDPC website and other media outlets.  We would like to begin the series with a few stories from New Mexico.

Your personal story as a parent of a child with diabetes is important and unique---we want to help other Native parents everywhere learn from your experiences. You will not have to use your name.

Our producer, Dave Baldridge, is a local Indian advocate and kidney donor whose daughter has grown up with diabetes.  He’ll share his own video story with you.
